Opti-Shield is a liquid-applied paint protection system developed by Opti-Coat.
Unlike ceramic coatings, which form a very thin layer (typically around 1–2 microns), Opti-Shield is built up in layers to create significantly more thickness — up to 8 microns per layer.
This added thickness allows it to form a more durable, flexible barrier over the paintwork, helping reduce everyday wear from driving.

›Drivers doing regular highway or country kilometres
›New vehicles needing stronger front-end protection early
›Owners wanting more than ceramic coating without going to PPF
›Vehicles exposed to higher-impact driving conditions

Protection levels can be adjusted depending on how the vehicle is used and which areas need the most coverage.

Not sure which package suits your vehicle? We can recommend the paint protection setup that best suits your vehicle and priorities.
Not sure if Opti-Shield is the right fit? Ceramic coatings provide excellent long-term protection for drivers who don’t need the additional thickness and impact resistance of Opti-Shield.
Like any form of paint protection, the end result depends heavily on how the surface is prepared beforehand. Each vehicle is properly cleaned and corrected before Opti-Shield is applied.
›Thorough wash and decontamination
›Machine polishing to prepare the paintwork
›Layered application of Opti-Shield to selected areas
›Controlled curing before the vehicle is returned
This is why even new vehicles still require proper preparation before protection is applied.

Is Opti-Shield a ceramic coating?
No. Opti-Shield is a liquid-applied paint protection system that builds more thickness than a standard ceramic coating. It still provides strong chemical resistance, but with added physical protection.
Is Opti-Shield the same as PPF?
No. PPF is a pre-formed film applied to the surface, while Opti-Shield is applied as a liquid and cures directly onto the paint. This creates a seamless finish without edges, while still providing a higher level of protection than a coating alone.
Is it more resistant to chips and scratches than ceramic coatings?
Yes. Opti-Shield is thicker than a ceramic coating, which allows it to better absorb minor impacts and reduce the likelihood of damage in high-impact areas.
Is it as protective as traditional PPF?
PPF provides the highest level of impact protection. Opti-Shield offers a stronger, more durable barrier than a ceramic coating, making it a practical option for drivers who want increased protection without going to full film coverage.
Can it be applied to specific areas only?
Yes. Opti-Shield can be applied to high-impact areas such as the bonnet and front guards, or across the entire vehicle depending on the level of protection you want.
Can other protection be applied over Opti-Shield?
Yes. Additional layers can be applied over Opti-Shield if a higher level of protection is needed in specific areas.
